Tetracore Energy: Driving Industrial Growth with Reliable Gas Supply

News
Tetracore's Edo State Gas facility

Tetracore Energy Group continues its efforts to deepen gas penetration and supply in West Africa and support the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Decade of Gas agenda. In a bold move to bolster Nigeria’s energy and industrial sectors, Tetracore Energy has established a state-of-the-art facility in Edo State, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s quest for sustainable development and economic diversification by providing integrated gas distribution solutions that ensure consistent and uninterrupted energy supply to industries and power plants. The 40 MMscfd capacity City Gate Facility in Edo State, is a critical infrastructure supporting industrial growth by delivering an average of 20 MMscfd of natural gas to the Utesi Industrial Park.

Tetracore Energy’s Edo State facility is designed to harness cutting-edge technology in energy production, storage, and distribution. The facility’s advanced infrastructure includes modular refineries, energy storage systems, and smart grid technology, enabling efficient energy distribution to various industries. By reducing reliance on imported energy and improving local refining capacity, Tetracore Energy is helping to stabilize the country’s energy supply and reduce costs for businesses. The Utesi Industrial Park, located in Utesi, Benin, houses over 14 manufacturing companies, all of whom uses natural gas for their industrial processes and power generation.

As part of Tetracore’s commitment to ensuring the highest quality gas supply and maintaining reliability for our customers, we have also just recently expanded the City Gate Facility’s delivery capacity from 20 MMscfd to 40 MMscfd. This upgrade enhances our ability to meet the rising energy demands of industrial users while ensuring a stable and efficient gas supply. Additionally, we expanded the heating capacity of the facility by commissioning two new Water Bath Heaters, designed to eliminate condensate and improve gas quality. The expansion effort will ensure that the customers receive only the highest quality gas and ensuring 24hr uptime from our City Gate even during routine maintenance—an embodiment of our quality policy and commitment to excellence.

Commitment to Local Content and Sustainability

Tetracore Energy is proud to emphasize its commitment to Nigeria’s local content development. This expansion project was executed entirely by an indigenous Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, utilizing 100% local manpower. By leveraging indigenous expertise, we continue to foster the development of Nigeria’s technical capacity while fulfilling our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in alignment with global best practices.

Driving Job Creation-Tetracore Energy has created over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, fueling economic empowerment across engineering, logistics, and technical services. Our operations contribute to workforce development and national growth.

This project reinforces Tetracore Energy’s unwavering mandate: delivering clean, cost-effective, and sustainable energy solutions. As we continue to expand and innovate, Tetracore Energy remains committed to powering industrial growth and driving economic growth across Africa.

About Tetracore

Tetracore is an integrated energy company with a growing gas and power portfolio that supports energy access, industrialization, and local content development within Africa’s biggest economy, and a growing footprint across Africa. Tetracore deploys small-scale gas and power technologies that are better adapted to address the challenges of an economy like Nigeria. The company focuses on projects that have a deep impact on industrialization and energy access in Africa.

Tetracore imposed itself as a strategic player and developed a natural gas distribution capacity currently exceeding 70 MMscfd, as well as contractual supply volumes exceeding 90 MMscfd.

As Tetracore grows its gas and power portfolio in Nigeria, it is also developing renewable energy projects while expanding across the rest of the region. The company is present in Ghana, where it has a CNG license to deliver gas to the Tema enclave, one of Ghana’s most industrialized clusters. Tetracore is also in the process of developing a small-scale LNG plant in Nigeria as well as in Equatorial Guinea in order to support the delivery of energy to further promote Natural gas adoption and utilization indigenously and to support industries and the power sector in the Gulf of Guinea.
