Dangote group and Tetracore Energy Group partnership

In a bold step to accelerate industrial decarbonization and strengthen Nigeria’s gas economy, Tetracore Energy Group and Dangote Group have reaffirmed their partnership. As part of Dangote Cement’s recent deployment of 4,000 CNG-powered trucks, Tetracore is supplying Autogas to these   CNG-powered trucks, supporting transportation right from the seaport and also fueling at other Tetracores CNG facilities across Nigeria.

This development reinforces the longstanding partnership between the two companies, who have been collaborating to integrate compressed natural gas (CNG) utilisation across the country. The collaboration supports both industrial fuel supply and low-emission transportation, creating a vertically integrated natural gas ecosystem for the country. Tetracore will supply up to an impressive 400,000 SCM per day, meeting growing demand for Dangote’s extensive logistics fleet and other Auto CNG users across the country.

Powering Industry with Cleaner, Reliable Energy

This partnership aligns with Nigeria’s Decade of Gas Initiative, which aims to accelerate domestic gas utilisation and foster industrial growth through sustainable energy solutions, as well as achieve the goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential CNG Initiative (Pi-CNG).

“This partnership represents a massive leap forward in industrial energy innovation in Nigeria,” said Tetracore CEO, Olakunle Williams. “By deploying natural gas at scale, we’re helping to decarbonise heavy industry, lower production costs, and create jobs across the gas value chain.”

Economic & Environmental Impact

The partnership is expected to:

  • Create  direct and indirect jobs across logistics, engineering, and plant operations
  • Reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 1.2 million metric tonnes annually, as Dangote transitions to cleaner fuel sources.
  • Increase investments in gas infrastructure, including pipelines, virtual pipelines (gas transport by road), and storage facilities.
  • Strengthen Nigeria’s energy independence by reducing diesel imports and promoting domestic gas monetisation.

Strengthening Local Capacity and Infrastructure

The deal will see Tetracore invest heavily in innovative gas deployment and distribution infrastructure, with hubs planned across the country. This not only supports Dangote’s cement operations but also opens up supply corridors to other large-scale industries and commercial users.

According to industry analysts, this kind of private sector-led gas adoption could be a game-changer for Nigeria’s energy economy, offering more stable power to industries while attracting further investment in local content development.

A Template for Future Industrial Partnerships

The partnership between Dangote and Tetracore Energy Group is more than just a business transaction; it’s a strategic alignment of goals, expertise, and vision. For Dangote, the collaboration has unlocked key operational and strategic benefits. By leveraging Tetracore’s mobile refuelling technology for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Dangote has strengthened its supply chain, ensuring consistent fuel availability across its operations. This not only reduces downtime but also cuts energy costs and mitigates the impact of fluctuating diesel prices, creating a more stable and predictable operating environment.

Equally important, the partnership supports Dangote’s sustainability and ESG ambitions. By transitioning significant parts of its energy consumption to CNG, Dangote is actively lowering its carbon footprint while reinforcing its position as a leader in adopting cleaner, more innovative energy solutions in Nigeria. It’s a move that enhances both environmental responsibility and brand leadership.

For future partners, this collaboration serves as a blueprint of what’s possible when operational needs meet strategic energy innovation. Tetracore’s approach is not “one-size-fits-all”—it is built on understanding a partner’s specific priorities, whether that’s cost reduction, efficiency gains, innovation, or environmental stewardship.

In essence, Tetracore doesn’t just deliver energy solutions, it delivers partnerships that work in lockstep with the ambitions of its collaborators, turning shared goals into shared success stories.
