At Tetracore Energy Group, safety is more than a policy, a procedure or a regulatory requirement. It is a responsibility shared by everyone who works with us, operates our assets, visits our facilities or contributes to delivering energy safely and reliably.
Today, we celebrate a significant milestone: Tetracore Energy Group has achieved 1 million Lost Time Injury (LTI)-free man-hours across its operations, without a single Lost Time Injury recorded during this period.
This achievement represents far more than a number. It reflects thousands of decisions made with safety in mind, procedures followed with discipline, hazards identified and addressed before they could become incidents, and people looking out for one another every day.
What Does LTI-Free Mean?
LTI stands for Lost Time Injury—a work-related injury or illness that results in an employee being unable to continue working following an incident.
For organisations operating in the energy sector, LTI performance is an important indicator of occupational health and safety performance. Achieving one million LTI-free man-hours demonstrates the consistent application of safety controls across people, processes, equipment and operations.
For Tetracore Energy Group, however, this achievement means much more than a safety statistic.
It represents a culture that puts people first.
A Milestone Built Through Growth
Tetracore Energy Group commenced operations in 2021 and has continued to grow its presence across the energy value chain.
Today, the Group’s activities span natural gas distribution, CNG, LNG, power infrastructure and related energy solutions. This growth has been accompanied by an expanding operational footprint across Nigeria and West Africa, including facilities, projects, mother stations, daughter stations and other energy infrastructure.
Growth brings greater responsibility.
Every new facility, project, employee, contractor and operating environment introduces new risks and safety considerations. As Tetracore has grown, one principle has remained constant:
Growth must never come at the expense of safety.
Safety That Grows With the Business
Operating in the energy sector requires a strong focus on risk management. From CNG and gas infrastructure to power facilities, logistics, construction and project activities, maintaining safe operations requires more than compliance with procedures.
It requires awareness, discipline, competence and active participation.
At Tetracore, safety is integrated into how we design projects, construct facilities, operate equipment and perform our daily activities.
It means asking the right questions before a task begins.
It means identifying hazards before they become incidents.
It means maintaining operational discipline.
And it means recognising that every employee, contractor and business partner has a role to play in maintaining a safe working environment.
The achievement of one million LTI-free man-hours is a reflection of this collective responsibility.
Strengthening Our HSE Culture
Tetracore’s approach to safety is supported by our broader commitment to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Our Integrated Management System provides a structured framework for managing quality, environmental responsibilities, occupational health and safety, and continual improvement.
But systems and procedures alone do not create safe workplaces. People do.
A strong safety culture exists when policies translate into everyday behaviour, when employees are confident to speak up about hazards, when leaders demonstrate visible commitment to safety, and when everyone understands that safety is a shared responsibility.
Our one-million-hour milestone is a reflection of what can be achieved when that commitment is consistently demonstrated across the organisation.
A Milestone, Not a Finish Line
While one million LTI-free man-hours is an achievement worth celebrating, we recognise that it is not the finish line.
Safety performance must be sustained and continuously improved. Every day presents new operating conditions, new challenges and new opportunities to strengthen our controls.
As Tetracore Energy Group continues to expand its energy infrastructure across Nigeria and West Africa, our commitment remains clear:
Protect our people. Safeguard our facilities. Manage our risks. Operate responsibly.
The next million hours will require the same vigilance, discipline, leadership and commitment that brought us to this milestone.
Because at Tetracore Energy Group, we believe that every successful operation begins with one fundamental principle:
Everyone Deserves to Go Home Safely.
